    I stumbled upon Wimdu when trying to find accommodation for four guys in Cologne. The site was easy to use. Just add the city, dates and how many needed accommodation and off it went searching for you. You can see the available rooms by both picture and by map location in that city. Then by clicking on the mapped locators you went straight to the room/flat. It was that easy. The most difficult thing was finding somewhere that wasn't booked but that was because I left it too late. Once booked, the payment is easy and quick.     I used already booking.com for hotels and have tried airbnb to look for rooms, so i tried wimdu for Paris as I prefer rooms with a personal touch over those standard hotel rooms. Wimdu through its simple interface tells you everything you want to know about the available property, rental condition & amenities, location on a map, and plenty of photos to make your choice. Booking requests are send automatically by email to your potential host, a fast response of accept or decline per email to you.     I have used wimdu twice to rent one bedroom apartments in Madrid, Spain. The site was very easy to use, with a large range of types of properties and the ability to refine your search criteria by area of the city, by price, by type of property (whole apartment, shared use etc) and to include specific requirements, for example, wireless internet. I received very quick responses from the hosts and where one apartment I was interested in was not available, alternative suggestions both from the original host and through the wimdu site.     Advantages Advantages In my case, absolutely NONE.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Refusal to cancel; reservation refused by owner; they take the total amount at reservation.

    BEWARE OF WIMDU ! DISHONNEST BUSINESS PRACTICE AND HIGHER COST THAN IF YOU MAKE YOUR RESERVATION THROUGH ANOTHER WEB SITE ! I made a reservation through WIMDU for an apartment in Slovenia only to learn that the owners of the apartment had not signed a contract with WIMDU. In other words, WIMDU WAS ADVERTISING FOR THEM WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION OR KNOWLEDGE. The owners asked WIMDU to cancel. No reply from WIMDU. Meanwhile, the entire amount (rental + service charge, approximately 300 Euros) has been taken off my account (3 months before the rental, giving WIMDU lots of time to invest it !). The ... more

    I have heard about this place from my gf. I checked the website. Found it very user friendly. Lots of places around me. Its very cheap aswell. Than i opened an account with them which was nice and easy. Searched for place around me.the results came up with lots of option. among them we choosed one. contact the owner via wimdu. she got back to us real quick.booked the place. and next we went to the place. really nice host.had a fantastic time. Wimdu has provided exceptional service, with many places recommended to us..wimdu considered our indiviual needs ..and upon arrival to the location there ... more
