Advantages Great news updates, nice easy layout and fast to load
Disadvantages pop up adverts can be anoying
Would you expect to find Eminem on a site called Worldpop.com? no? well, neither was I! but believe it or not this site is home to a fantastic Eminem micro site, but this is nothing compared to the rest of the sites content.
This site is EASILY the best music site on the net, and very easy to navigate - the sites main navigation bar stays in the top of the screen on every page along with the advert bar (which saves loading on every page)The news is update around the clock and all loads on one page which saves scrolling through pages and pages of news to get to an interesting story, the only thing the news pages do lack is an archive, which I hope they impliment soon.
the interviews section is pretty up to date and the archive is interesting, you can browse through all the old interviews from just the one drop down box, its great to see popular acts of today being interviewed before they were famous!the Community is one of the sites best areas, the chatrooms are always monitored so its safe for kids to chat in, and there are loads of great discussion forums as well as games and more!
Along the bottom of the navigation bar there is the micro-sites which are updated regualy, currently Eminem and the Brit Awards are the mini-sites active.Its nice for a music website to get involved in the world of pop in a more active role, they have sponsored both the Steps and Mel C tours, and are sponsors of the Official UK Top 40 which they upload to this site every Sunday just after 7pm. You will also find Worldpop segmants kicking up on CD:UK and Dance 2000 both on ITV
The only thing that lets this site down is the advertisments that seem to appear every so often for 5 seconds on each page before vanishing, this can cause the browser to lock up.Apart from this, it really is the best and youngest music website on the internet, check it out!

Chris, I think you mean PopWorld, they sent me a free CD when I signed up ages ago, the only problem with that site is the anoying flash intro and flash pages that load up, would be alot better if I had Broadband access!

Are we both actually talking about the same world pop site? The layout may be ok, but the time consuming flash intro and download time is a pure nightmare (being a professional web blokey I know what it's like to have to speed your site up!) I think personally the worst part of the site has to be the lack of email updates they produce to inform you of news updates, changes etc. If they got this right they'd have far more returning visitors.
