First off, you don't get paid in - you are awarded `dewey points'. For each article you write you are paid 10 points and you get another point each time it is read. The exchange rate for these `deweys' is around 1000 = US$30 Gift Certificate. So to approximate the value, 1 point = 3cents. ...site was like gold. Writtenbyme.com is a web site that caters to all writers, including those of us who write slightly off centre and strange fiction. Off course as with anything there are many pro's and cons and so I'll do my best to cover the main points.
You are rewarded on this site for reading other peoples work as well as writing your own pieces. You also get rewards for other peoples comments. Rewards come in the form of DEWEYS a points system; ... ...point for every piece written and one point for every piece that is commented on by other members as well as bonus extras. The fact that you get so few points for your work makes earning those all important DEWEYS a little effortful (is that a word? I don't think that’s a word…. This relatively new writer's site aims t to provide opportunties for people from all over the world to publish their very ... ...so in the form of what are called deweys.
You get 100 deweys for joining,additional deweys for referring others to the site and one dewey for every read by members. Unfortunately you do not receve deweys for reads by visitors,who have not signed up to become members.Deweys can be exchanged for items at the likes of amazon.com,buy.com, and petopia.com.
