I have been selling on ebay over the past few months and found that some of the heavier items were costing alot to send via Royal Mail parcels, parcel force and the like, this meant that people were bidding lower amounts on my items, so it was the parcel cpmpanies making money while I was making a pittance, then I found Parcel 2 Go.
I was very please to find that Parcel to go are able to carry upto 25kg for as little as £6.19 plus VAT .You can also ship upto 500kg for £75 plus VAT, I have never had to ship something that heavy, but it sounds like a good price !
Parcel 2 Go, use wellknown couriers such as DHL, each item has an automatic insurence of upto £50 and is tracked so you know your parcel is safe and you can track its progress. From just £16.99 Parcel 2 Go can arrange collection and delivery to the USA and Asia via Fedex, though parcel to Europe start from £19.99 which was surprising as I expected it to be chaper thatn USA !
Its very simple to book and collection and delivery through Parcel 2 Go, they have a simple online booking form, you enter your details and the recepients, all you need is the postcode and they give you addresses in that postcode and you click on the one you are sending to.At the end of your order you will have the opportunity to purchase packaging materials at reasonable prices too.
Once you have placed your order, you must click the link to the parcel lable, so this service is only suitable if you have access to a printer, as your parcel can not be carriedwithout the barcode on the parcel lable. I forgot this reccently - I purchased an item on Ebay which way collection only, the lady kindly agreed that if I arrange my own courier, she would be happy to send it to me. I placed the order and then found that I had to print off the label and post it to her before the collection date, which meant I then had to rearrange the collection because I would not be able to get the label to her in time. The payment options for using Parcel 2 Go are very flexible, you can use credit or debit card, World Pay, Google checkout and you have the option of PayPal. which suited me brilliantly as I do not have a credit or debit card - many courier do not offer the option of paying via PayPal.
Regular users of Parcel 2 gGo can also open an account and if you deposit £100 into your account, you will recieve £5 free credit, not alot I know, but its better than nothing !Ebay sellers can recieve a 5% discount on any item they post with Parcel 2 Go, its really simple to do, list your item, visit the Parcel 2 Go website, enter your Ebay item number and paste the code you are given into your listing, the logo will then appear on your listing.
When it comes to arranging the collection and delivery of your item, you will have the option of adding a discount code, you enter AUCT and then your item number and 5% will be deducted from your total.Whilst Parcel2Go is very simple to use, if you do need any help, they have a LiveChat option, so you can speak to a customer services rep who can assist you. In my experience there is usually someone available to talk, if there is not anyone ( which I have only found to be the case once so far ) you can enter your question and you will usually recieve a reply within an hour or so.
Parcel2Go also offers other services, such as rental of a US postal address, this could be useful if you run a business which deals with the US, or if you are an Ebayer, who likes to purchase from the US and find that many US sellers will not ship worlwide.I am very pleased with the Parcel2Go service, however one thing which could make it unsuitable for some, is that you can not specify which time your item is collected form you, I reccently asked if they could specify morning or afternoon and was told that it was not possible. The one way you can specify delivery time is to choose saturday morning delivery for an item collected on Friday ( time unspecified) and this costs £17.99. Also delivery, is 1-2 day or 2-4 day, so you do not know exactly when it will arrive with its reciepient, you can choose next day, however it costs considerably more at £18.99 plus VAT for upto 25kg.
Overall I think Parcel2Go offer a brilliant service and I have had no trouble with them at all, whenever I have used the 2-4 day delivery option, the parcel have always arrived at their destination the next day or the day after, which is brilliant so I would never bother paying the extra for 1-2 day delivery, although if you needed to ensure it arrived in 1-2 days, its only £7.99 which is still excellent value comapared with other courier services.I would reccomend DHL to anyone who wanted a cost effective efficient service to send parcels.
