xe.com claims that its company's main priority is to 'facilitate the globalization of commerce' and as such offers you a currency conversion site(well its a start I suppose) - in fact if their claim is true, they are the 'world’s MOST popular currency conversion site'! Whether you believe them or not, who cares as long as they deliver the goods right?

Well they do.

Its a very simple site to navigate and use despite their obvious attempts to make it look a little more complex and detailed by adding all sorts of plainly irrelevant and pointless company information. The actual currency converter sits in the middle of the start page. You get a table of currency conversions incuding the most popular currency units such as Dollars, Sterling, Yen, Euros that sort of thing. These percentage conversion rates are updated by the minute apparently so you should always get the freshest most accurate prices on your cash. Don’t fancy working it all out manually? Then use the box below this which allows you to enter a numeric amount, select the 'convert from' and 'convert to' variables and click 'convert' - the amount you'll get is displayed instantly. If you don’t see what you want displayed here then click on the universal currency conversion link and you'll be sent to a far more comprehensive currency converter. Great. I’m not too sure why they just couldn't have put the full converter on the front page, but I suppose they have their reasons...other than to make it look more complicated again. Effectively, this website could have just been a couple of scrollable menus and text boxes rather than the more complicated display they give here...oh well.

Its easy to navigate, extremely fast and pleasant on the eye, although I’m not a big fan of yellow at least its not lime green and purple which a lot of sites I was looking at last night seemed to go for(why??). The currency conversions seem to be updated very regularly - once every minute is about as god as you are going to get, so its certainly one of the most accurate conversion programs you are likely to find as well. Overall, I can’t really fault it, other than their strange use of ‘quick’ conversion table and calculators on the front page, when the longer ones would have been just as good if not better. Still a 5/5 website - does exactly what it says it does and does it in style. Can’t ask for more than that really.
