Yahoo! is brilliant, free e-mail and web hosting and searching and ..... why not give yahoo a go. A comprehensive place to find anything on the web and with many topics to search from including all the popular areas such as computers and the internet, similar to ciao in a way. You can never go wrong with Yahoo! and Yahoo! Geocities (Yahoo!'s web pages). There are many different countries that Yahoo! covers so all nationalities can get in on the shear brilliance of it. Go for Yahoo! and don't be a Yahoo! fool!

Here comes another of my updates on one of my early ops, again don't expect too much.

I have used Yahoo! lots for searching especially as they use Goggle to carry out a more detailed search if want that (although you probably wont find what you want this way), well I could go on and on, here is a quick run down of the searching facilities, etc.

~ The search ~

You can use (in the UK version) the search to get UK, just Irish or for a full wordwide search when you type in the thing you want to find, it is always advisable to use keywords like the first word of a phrase (assuming that the word is not to common not like 'and' or 'that' but something like 'fish'.

The speed is quite good although I have had problems when trying to access pages although that could be my processor or something. The search does it's best to come up with categories for that search under which you will find a simple list of all the matching sites. There are usually 20 matches to a page, there can obviously be many hundreds of pages for a search depending on the popularity of the subjet. As already mentioned you can look through to an advanced search by Goggle.

~ Design and layout ~

The logo is red and the pages are usually set on a plain white background although I have known them to be diffrent on other peoples computers. The links are usually in blue with the usual number of sponsors, Amazon is a common sponsor and can be used to look for books on your chosen search.

~ My opinion ~

Very good and very straight forward to use, quick enough for the job and hosts a range of other things apart from searching. I would give it a good 7/10 overall for the number of things you can do with your search and the above criteria covered by me.
