I joined YouGov around 2 years ago, when I joined, I was pleased to find I was recieving around 3 surveys a month as a minimum, but usually more. The surveys pay 50p-£1 in general, which isnt bad as the surveys are not overly long. You do have to check the e-mail invitations though, because several times I have clicked through to complete a survey and completed it only to find that I was not getting paid for it, I was just being entered into a prize draw for £500 , I dont think I would have completed them had I realised, so now I always read the invitations for the incentive.

As the name suggests, YouGov mainly has surveys which are to do with government relatyed things, such as the education system, benefits, taxes, global warming and elections.

I usually find the surveys from YouGov pretty borring, however as they pay pretty well, I am continueing to complete surveys untill I reach my £50 at which point can request a cheque.

Unfortunatly in the past 6 months I have recieved only 6 surveys, which is very disappointing and I am starting to think I will never reach the £50 target ! I currently have £16.50 in my account - thats not good for 2 years is it ??!!??

To become a member of YouGov, you need to visit www.yogov.co.uk , click on My YouGov and register. You will recieve an activation e-mail to verify your e-mail address, once you have clicked throug you will be ready to log in to your account where you will be able to complete your profile, your profile will help to match you to surveys - I completed my profile and unlike some survey sites, the profile does work, I have not been screened out of any surveys.

When you are loogged into your account, you have the option of refering friends, if you do this and your friend signs up, you will earn money for each survey they recieve in their first 3 months as a member, but I dont think you will earn much this way as there seem to be so few surveys lately.

As well as beig a survey site, YouGov also has many other sections....

Your Letters - As a panel member, you can submit your views and opinions on the topics of the day, a reccent topic was the Ladt Diana Inquest. I have never written in, however a great many people do.

Commentaries - Here 3 gentlemen talk and blog about issues important to YouGov. I dont read this so I cant really commen on its content.

Prize Winners - Here you can find the details of the people who have won prizes with YouGov over the past 6 years - My name is never on there so I dont bother looking !

Support and FAQ - Here you can find out more about YouGov, both in terms of being a membr and their research and reports, you can also use this section to make an enquiry.

Contact - No explaination needed !

My YouGov - Again self explainitory, this is where you see the history of the surveys you have completed, your account balance and you can update your profile a personal dtails.

I think I would be a little reluctant to refer anyone to YouGov because ut is not worth doing, it has a high payout which takes ages to reach, especially since they have started sending less and less surveys. I used to think YouGov was good, but unless survey invitations increase, I will be cashing in and leaving as soon as I reach £50.
