Zwallet is one of an increasing number of 'get paid to...' programs. This one pays you for using their e-mail system, which is similar to Hotmail, Lycos etc., in that you get an e-mail address @zwallet.com. Throughout this review I will explain the different reasons which make Zwallet so popular.
**LAYOUT/DESIGN** The layout of this site makes it very easy to navigate. There is a neat yellow bar down the side with many links which gives the false impression of frames. There is a necessary advertisement banner at the top and another links table underneath. The yellow background on the table bar and blue links complement each other for a nice design 'on the eyes'. The main part of the site has a white background, and black text. The navigation of this site is exceptional.
**SPEED/SERVICE/SUPPORT** In terms of speed of loading times, 90% of the time I use this site (on my modest 56k modem, the page loads instantly for me. When I enter my login and password (my username is rdcmk, thus my e-mail address is rdcmk@zwallet.com,
and my password is 'likeimgonnatellyou'), the page which tells me whether I have new mail is instantly loaded (with the exception of a few pictures). I would describe the service as between adequate and good. The e-mail does take a little longer to arrive than it would on my Hotmail (+ MSN Messenger) or AOL accounts, but the service is still good, and I find it good to have an account that doesn't scream free (like Hotmail), for reasons on my website. When I signed up, I accidentally entered my Year of Birth as 1987. Well, I e-mailed their support and it took a little over 3 weeks to rectify the situation, which obviously ISN'T good. But, from experience there should be little reason to need the help of their support team.
**MEGABYTE CAPACITY** Well, for e-mail (plus attachments etc. obviously), your mailbox limit is 2 megabytes, which isn't great, but is adequate for meeting most e-mail requirements. BUT, they also give a free 50mb 'InternetHard Drive' to members, similar to the service provided by X-Drive, which is handy for storing mp3s, or other files, or simply to back up files!
**E-MAIL** In terms of Mailboxes, you get three at signup, Inbox, Trash, Sent. I believe that you can add to these and set up filters to your mailboxes. There is the obvious features, a very neat Address Book, signature capabilites, mail blocking, and of course their rewards program, which I will come to in a few seconds. The name which appears on all sent e-mails can be changed, as can the number of messages displayed per page and the message headers. The E-mail System is perfectly decent to use for a web-based e-mail service. The only thing it lacks is a POP3 service, but this is how they make their money.
**REWARDS SCHEME** Finally, I come to the Rewards Scheme. Yes, I know most of you will have skipped to this bit of the review, so I'll get to the point. Firstly, the rates. What they do is count the number of page views you make when logged into your account. They then receive all the advertising they make in that month, and give the users 40% of whatever they made zwallet that month. The referral rates are: 40% (You), 5%, 2%, 2%, 2%, 2%.
I quote from their site: "We will pay you to use our email system. Every time you read or send an email message you will get paid. If you use features of our email system, such as address book, filters, folders, blocking Spam, and much more, you will get paid too. You also will get paid while your primary referrals (people who mention your user ID when they sign up) and while your secondary referrals (people referred to zWallet.com by your primary referrals and people referred by your primary referrals' referrals, etc.) use our email system. Remember there is no limit to the number of referrals you can get paid for."
You will be paid up to 10,000 page views a month for yourself, 10,000 or your primary referrals and 10,000 pge views for each other referral, but remember you can have an unlimited number of referrals, so for website owners like myself, this is a VERY handy feature.
There is a good Referral Corner for ideas on how to gain referrals for Zwallet.
Finally, there is an E-mail Rewards Plus scheme, which is like many other 'Get paid to RECEIEVE e-mail' programs. They e-mail you containing advertisements, which you get credit for reading, and even more credit for clicking the e-mail and vsiting the site. This is another good way of earning cash. Finally, Zwallet pay out once you get $20 US in your account. This will roll over to the next month if you do not reach this. Your account will be updated with your balance the month after the last one (ie, your January Earnings will show at the start of March).
I hope this gives a clear, informative view of the site. If there is anything you think I have missed please feel free to e-mail me, rdcmk@zwallet.com (!), and thank you!
Rob.
