I joined ZWALLET.COM 4 months ago after themail.com (another pay-to email service) stopped being free.

At ZWALLET.COM you get 2 Mb of space, and they will pay you for using their services. This includes sending and receiving email from your ZWALLET.COM account. If you join their Email Rewards Plus Program they will send you special offers every so often. And you get paid for them. (see below for more information)

Currently they offer their services to people in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States(and territories).

It has the standard features: inbox, trash, sent mail, an addess book, filters (you can set according to your preferences). You can also create your own folders.

To Compose a message is simple. You have the option to save the sent emails, create your own signature and add it to or not add it to your emails. You can attach files to your out going mail.

The FREEDRIVE was one of the better features of ZWallet.com. They provided you with a 50mb free space on line to store your files just like X drive which you could use from any where when you are online and you could also share these files with your friends which are given the access to the drive. Did you notice? I used the word 'was'.

Effective July 2, 2001, FreeDrive will be modified and the storage allotment will be reduced to 5 MB for free. All other current features, including Private Sharing, will remain available through Free Drive. They have two other drives that have more MB and, of course, cost you to use it.

The TESTDRIVE (was FreeDrive) membership entitles you to 20 MB (effective July 2, 2001 - 5 MB) of free storage space, plus:
Limited Private and Public File Sharing
Photo Albums
Free Trial of FD Desktop and FD Sync
FD Chat
CD Burning

The SMARTDRIVE membership gives you 65 MB of storage space, and all the plus that the TESTDRIVE does, and:
A Lookup List to make file sharing easier
Palm access to your account
Advertising-free site
for $4.95 per month, or get 2 months FREE with an annual subscription.

POWERDRIVE membership is the Top of the Line! PowerDrive is fully loaded with 150 MB of storage space and provides you with the most benefits. All of the benefits of the SMARTDRIVE plus:
A Lookup List to make file sharing easier
Palm access to your account
Advertising-free site
for just $9.95 per month, or get 2 months FREE with an annual subscription.
You have to log-in every 60 days or they will cancel your account. On the FreeDrive (now TestDrive) they also delete your files.

At the Referral Center they provide you with emails, banners and flyers for referring your family and friends.

The Rewards are really not that great. They claim to pay you 40% of their revenue for using their email service. The current limit is 10,000 emails that you will get paid for. There is no limit to the number of referrals you get paid for. You get paid for reading and sending emails, for opting into their Email Rewards Plus Program (I received 10 this month) and for signing up for free offers. Minimum pay out is $20.
.
Now for the DOWNSIDE. ZWALLET.COM has had a lot of problems with their email server. The few programs I signed up for using my ZWallet account, I never received their confirmation email. There are lot of pay-to and lists that will not accept a zwallet email account because of this problem. So be warned. If you deside to use their service do not use it for anything important. It is great for signing up for ezines and ffa pages where you get a lot of junk mail. I have also received email where I could not read the message. This was not just a glich as it included the messages that ZWALLET sent to me.

Overall, the pay is not great and the service just keeps getting worse. Don't look to their customer service for help. I sent 4 emails and never received a answer from them.

After 4 months I have a total of $3.10 so far. ;-(

Sites that offer so much and then deliver so little should be avoided like the plague. Thanks for clueing me up on this site. The worst part of this has to be the customer service aspect, there's nothing worse than getting a problem and not being able to receive a solution, it must be like banging your head against a brick wall!

Even the 5Mb Freedrive has now gone - free Testdrive users can only share files from othr (paying) members. Paul.
