You could use this site as a backup to your current email because you can use the notification options to receive alerts via amail, pager or ICQ of new messages, or upcoming calendar events. There is no harm in signing up for this as it is free and there are some good features available! Also there is a calender that you can use to store some important events that come up and also store tasks for you to remember! Also you can auto reply to messages and choose between the default message or write your own.
At the end i wouldnt recommend this site if you are just looking for a email service provider as there are better ones one there such as hotmail and yahoo! This is because there aren't many features available and the site is pretty basic when you log in! However if you have a free website for example you can be a webmaster and create your own user@your-name.zzn.com email address! Meaning you can change the your-name part to whatever you like!

I am a ZZN Webmaster, which means I manage a @?.zzn.com email service. ZZN provides a free service for anybody who wants to create his or her own email service. You could even run the service without having your own website if you so wished.
For example, say you signed up with a service name of 'Jack'. Your email service would then have the addresses as: ???????????@jack.zzn.com. People who sign up for the 'Jack' ZZN service would have whatever ... ...if you signed up for an email address with the name 'mark' your email address would be mark@jack.zzn.com in this example.
Webmasters would either publicise the service with their website or would publicise the sign-up and login page which ZZN set up. Each individual service receives its own webpage on ZZN servers.
Webmasters will find it easy to customise and manage the email service from the ZZN website. As the service is automated, little management ...

Advantages: Good for small site owners Disadvantages: Easy for larger sites to outgrow
ZZN.com is good as it allows small website owners to provide their visitors with free e-mail to keep them coming back.
The format of the e-mail is visitorsname@sitename.ZZN.com
This is fine for small sites, but a webmaster with his/her own domain, should look into a (still free) service such as everyone.net
Another use is for a family to have e-mail such as member@family.zzn.com.

Advantages: Free, reliable servers Disadvantages: Non really except for the unanounced adverts.
Setting up your own face on the web can be very daunting and trying to find services to add on to your site is no easier, but www.zzn.com offer you free webspace as well as a free email service to math.

The service is great, and there is no limit to how much ... ...free web space service to go with your domain name. For instance, if you email name was free-email@searchconnect.zzn.com, then your webspace would be www.searchconnect.zzn.com.
You can customize everything to do with your email service, which I find very easy to do, but there is one problem, you have to place an advert on your website to show that you use their servers. The sign up process takes less than 10 minutes and there is nothing to download ...

Zzn.com provide a free email server, allowing to have http://yourname.zzn.com and yourname@yourname.zzn.com, although this is probably a first. The advertising gets a bit much on Zzn’s behalf and you don’t even have the ability to edit your own users accounts.
This web based email service has minimum features and only has a capacity of 3meg for your emails.
You do of course have the ability to add new folders ... ...messages instead of different pages, something hotmail left out.
You can check your Pop3 account from this and you can do all the normal features of any other email service.
What ever you do don’t flood out your account with hundreds of emails like I did, its very hard to delete them all.
The speed is usually rather slow so don’t really expect much from this service but the bare miniums. ...
